Oral Cancer
Raman spectroscopy study for detection of Oral cancers using serum and exfoliated cells.
This project aims at developing serum and exfoliated cell based minimally invasive method for early diagnosis and mass screening of oral cancers. Pilot study has suggested feasibility of classifying normal (n=17) and cancerous (n= 69) serum samples, it is being further explored by large number of samples
Cervix Cancer
Raman spectroscopy study for detection of Cervical cancer using exfoliated cells.
This project aims at developing a minimally invasive diagnostic method using cervical exfoliated cell. Feasibility of classifying normal and abnormal cells have been demonstrated. So far, total of 94 patients have been enrolled to evaluate its efficacy for routine diagnosis.
In vivo Raman Spectroscopic Prediction of Radio-sensitivity in Oropharyngeal Cancers Pilot Study
Radiotherapy is the preferred treatment modality for most of the oropharyngeal cancers and radioresistance is a major hurdle. Objective of the study is to explore the feasibility of in vivo Raman diagnostic methods in classification of responding and non responding oropharyngeal cancers using spectra recorded during different stages of radiation treatment. So far 18 patients are recruited and response status of 7 of them is known. Additionally efficacy of RS in identifying radiation induced mucositis will also be explored
