IACR President's Message

Dear Colleagues,

Cancer Research is thriving in India, which is reflected in how IACR membership has expanded over the last few years. Cancer Research in India encompasses basic research in cancer biology, and in recent years, this has been accompanied by wonderful advances in bringing both new diagnostic and prognostic measures to the clinic and new therapeutic practices to improve patient care.
Despite these advances, we need to do more as a community and cannot rest on our laurels. IACR has been at the forefront of cancer research in India and also promotes cancer awareness. The annual IACR meeting is an excellent opportunity for students and postdocs to meet faculty and learn from them. In addition, it is also a forum for scientists to interact with our clinical colleagues and come together to solve problems that directly impact patient care.
I wish you all the best in your endeavors and encourage you to spread the word about IACR to your colleagues and students who are not members and encourage them to join IACR.

Dr. Sorab N. Dalal,
President, IACR
